Zardari Pak army criticized dual role: Newsweek

NEW YORK: American magazine Newsweek in its articles argued that the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari had accused Pakistani army plays a dual role in the ongoing war against terrorism.

The report detailed a former CIA official published in Newsweek, also said that Lashkar-e-Tayeba, who had participated in Bombay, now enjoyed the patronage of the Pakistan army.

To request clarification of these allegations, the head of the ISI was also summoned by an American Court.

The Newsweek report claims that the tensions between Islamabad and Washington had reached its peak in recent months.
